Day 1

I was taking a run that morning in my neighborhood. It was pretty hot but nothing I can’t handle. To be honest heat is something I never was quite bothered by. Not many people were out on the streets that day which I found a bit weird since it was a weekend. All I met was a dog. She seemed to be sniffing something on the road ahead of me. The closer I got the more I could see what was she interested in. A bright red sock was laying on the pavement. As I approached the dog lifted her gaze and our eyes met. It wasn’t a usual dog who will run away the moment you come near. She calmly looked at me sitting down as if proposing to prolong our eye conversation. I had no time to waste since I only have half an hour before the boy comes to make my usual run distance so I kept running.

Usually, I take a left from that place onward but the dog distracted me so I somehow ended up taking right. Not that I minded, although the road back was slightly longer from here but I got to pass by my favorite place — the tree café. It was a lovely place for a cup of just about anything under the shade of a large oak with a convoluted tree trunk splitting here and there, where you could sit and watch the surface of a quite pond glimmering in distance. The greatest thing about this place was its unnoticed nature by residents and tourists. It is like the world forgot about it and only properly trained waitresses in sparkling white shirts knew these shades exists.
